Ella - 18th Birthday Cake

Made for Ella's 18th birthday this is an 8" vanilla cake with a strawberry and white chocolate ganache filling.
The topper was made by a new Irish company called 'Cake Top Designs'. Added exactly what I needed to this watercolour and gold cake.

This is an 8" chocolate fudge cake and was made for Jamie's birthday. Mickey's head is made from a styrofoam ball as only an 8" cake was needed.

Guess How Many Smarties Cake

This was a bit of a rush as the end of April came around two weeks earlier than I was expecting. The cake is a 6" vanilla cake and there were 279 smarties in that little well.

Guess how many smarties cake

I love when we are asked to make these cakes for my kids school cake sale.... once I have an idea that is.

This barrel is half cake and half smarties. The cake is a 4" high x 6" round chocolate fudge cake. We gained the extra height by using a card insert to hold the smarties.
I ove how the kids guess. One guessed a gazillion and another guessed 50.

Laura - Masha and the Bear cake

Based on an image sent to us by Laura's mum this is an 8" chocolate sponge cake. Everything is hand drawn and painted.

Nice to do something a bit different.

Lorcan - 21st Birthday Cake

An 8" chocolate biscuit cake made to celebrate Lorcan's 21st Birthday. Some of his favourite things are Game of Thrones (that's a direworlf behind him for those of you who are not fans), Lord of the Rings, going to the gym and hanging out at Dublin Airport ..... as a barman. He also loves brightly patterned shirts!

Guess how much I love you - Christening Cake

One of my (new) favourites. This is an 8" strawberry swirl cake and is based on the gorgeous book of the same name.
We included a bouncing 'big sister' hare so she would feel included in the days events.
Everything is edible and handmade.

Rockabilly Wedding Cake - Dublin Sugarcraft Guild Competition Cake 2016

My entry for the novelty wedding cake category. Three tiers of my new favourite style. Thrilled with my 'Commended' Cert.

I received the following as feedback from the judges.  "An interesting use of inlay work, love the dots and roses idea here. More care needed to be taken to get this spot on. Love the tattoo inspired banner but bear in mind that the back of the banner will be seen b y the wedding couple so that should be decorated too. A colourful piece with some interesting ideas."

"An eye catching exhibit. Some cracking and unevenness of paste on all tiers. Take care with construction of spots - some show gaps between cut out sections, but a nice idea. Cake topper is unfortunately rather heavy. Good use of roses but more care needed for their construction. Do try again, you have some interesting ideas."

Aiden - 50th birthday cake

An 8" chocolate fudge cake made to celebrate Aiden's 50th. He's a bond fan and looks good in a tux so .. that's the theme we went with. Everything, including the car, is edible.

Ronan - International Man of Travel

I was quite jealous of the adventures of Ronan when I was making this cake (I want to go to Shanghai too).
The cake is the suitcase, a 10" x 8" vanilla cake. The globe is a Styrofoam ball covered in sugarpaste. The labels are edible too.

Matthew - Christening Cake

Matthew's mum rang me in a bit of a panic, had forgotten to order cake.  I was only too happy to help her out.  This is an 8" chocolate biscuit cake.  I decided to put Matthew on his Goose playmat (thing) and have his favourite bunny blanket too.  Everything is edible and handmade.

Margaret - 40th Birthday Cake

Myself and Kathryn had been emailing back and forth for a while before it clicked with both of us that Margaret is my lovely neighbour.  This gorgeous lady is the mother of four, married to a handsome chap from Bath, she herself hails from Mayo.  She teaches and loves the odd glass of wine!!
