This is a carved 10" zesty lemon cake It was made for a baby shower everything is edible and handmade. Not often I have this much pink in my life.

Carmel - 80th birthday cake

Carmel has many interests and loves. She is a keen photographer and an amateur author. She also loves her dog, we decided to include these in the cake made to celebrate her 80th birthday.

The cake is an 8" strawberry swirl and everything is handmade and edible.

Donal ordered this for his partner's birthday. She is a huge Prince fan (aren't all the best people?) so a purple cake was in order.

The cake is an 8" x 5" high white chocolate fudge cake. Everything is edible and ... I'm back listening to Sign o' the times so all is good.

The shoe that broke!

Sad sigh, Thought I'd show you the shoe that didn't make it lol. One of the perils of making a shoe is that they take rather a while to set and harden... anything up to a week depending on weather, humidity etc. This was just finished, having spent a week on top of the UPC box ... dries them out nicely and ..... well, I knocked it over and smashed it. Ill show you the bag properly and the wonderful shoe Karen Geraghty of Bake, Cake, Create provided for me so I wouldn't let down the customer in a moment.

Jackie - Mulberry Bag Birthday Cake

Ordered by Julie for her Mam's 50th birthday this is a carved 10" chocolate biscuit cake. It's based on the 'Alexa' (I would love a real one, in black please?).

The shoe was made by my wonderful friend Karen Geraghty of Bake, Cake Create. She kindly stepped in and gave me a shoe she had made for a class she taught. Kindly stepped in as I had, as you may have seen earlier in the week, broken my shoe to go along with this bag.

Everything is edible and handmade ... I wouldn't eat the shoe though as it is rather hard, despite being made entirely from sugar.

I love this cake and really wish the light had been better to get decent photos (bloody Desmond).

Based on his favourite toy, this is an 8" Raspberry and vanilla cake. All handmade and edible and ... it reminds me of my baby's monkey (our monkey has no ears or tail and the baby is now 11!)

Ordered by Ian for his lovely wife, this is a 9" carved Zesty Lemon Cake.

After 35 years Deirdre is retiring, wishing her many happy 'no more Mondays' feelings.

The cake is zesty lemon and is approx 45cm long and 10cm high. The wings are made from foam core board covered in sugarpaste to enable the cake to be transported a little easier.

Made to celebrate Ronan's 40th birthday this is a 12" x 10" zesty lemon cake. The single playing? Blue Monday by New Order ... and all edible.

Alan - Gaiety Birthday Cake

I received a call on Monday "can you make a cake for a party on Saturday?'. 'Sure', I said. 

Received an email the next morning ..'How BIG can you make the cake?" 

BIG!! The cake is over 70cm tall, excluding sign, and was made to celebrate the much loved Alan's 50th birthday AND his 30th year working in the Gaiety in Dublin. We didn't meet Alan yesterday as he was barred for the weekend so the party could be set up but, thanks to everyone we had the pleasure of meeting and working with, the man is much loved and admired.

The cakes are all 5" high and are: 10" chocolate biscuit cake, 8" raspberry and vanilla and a 6" Strawberry swirl. We also provided an 8" lemon cake for cutting (or keeping).

p.s. our cake even got a velvet rope!!!
