Lughan - Guess How Much I Love You

Lughan turned one last weekend and, as we are still in lockdown, his mam had cupcakes for all the family to enjoy during a Zoom Birthday Party. How cool is that?

The cake is a tall 6" chocolate fudge and the cupcakes are vanilla. Everything is handpainted and handmade.

Freya - Watermelon and unicorns birthday

Freya, along with her mam, has been coming to my house for a couple of years now to pick up cakes for other family members. Finally, she got to pick up one for herself.

Her communion cake never got to go ahead so it was all systems go for her birthday.
The cake is an 8" red velvet with choc chips and white chocolate frosting and the cupcakes were vanilla funfetti and decorated with unicorns and rainbows and as much glitter as I could add.

.Call of Duty Modern Warfare Launch 2019

I know what I'm good at and I know who to call when I feel I won't be good enough.
Enter Maria McDonald of Sugar Duckie Cake Designs. We were asked to make cupcakes and something sculptural for the 2019 launch of Call of Duty, "along the lines of what you did last year".
Last year I could do... this year I knew that Maria would make something phenomenal if asked. So I asked her! She made this fabulous bust of Captain Price. He is edible as he is made of rice crispie treats and modelling chocolate but I imagine he will live out his days in Ruth's office.
I love working with clients who trust me and love working with other cake makers, especially when they are as talented as my mate.

Toy Show Treats

The Late Late Show is having a competition to win the LAST two tickets for the toy show (happening in two weeks time). We were asked to make a couple of nice things for Ryan. Bernie made this fabulous gingerbread house So fabulous in fact she's going to make a few more (one for me I hope). Honestly, the smell of ginger was delightful. I got to make the mini Ryan, decorate cupcakes and try my hand at biscuits. Great fun all around.

You can find out more about the comp here: Today The Late Late Toy Show is putting two of the most desirable tickets in Ireland on the table with a competition to find the country’s most festive baked treat. All you need to do to be in with a chance of getting your hands on two golden tickets to this year’s Late Late Toy Show, airing on RTÉ One on Friday, November 30, is grab your apron and high-tail it to the kitchen to create a Toy Show inspired Christmas treat.
