Beatrice - and Elvis Birthday Cake

Joanne ordered this 8" chocolate cake for her mam's recent birthday celebrations. Beatrice is part of the Donegal Elvis fan club (that's their flag draped on the cake behind her). The woman sounds like a legend and I love how she and Elvis turned out. And, I keep meaning to ask Joanne to find out where her mam got that dress AND those shoes.

Doreen - Michael Kors Birthday Cake

I meant to look up what fabulous Doreen's were born 60 years ago. This was our second Doreen this week. This cake was ordered by Doreen's daughter to celebrate her mam's 60th birthday. She is a hairdresser who loves her Michael Kors handbag and the island of Crete. Everything is edible and handmade.

Henry - He's out of this world!!!

Henry, who celebrated a big birthday this weekend, is married to Bernie. So obviously we were going to go all out for his cake. He is fascinated by space, Mars in particular, so Bernie asked that I decorate the cake with that theme in mind. Mars, a 6" styro dummy, and Henry get to sit on an icing plinth now that the party is over. The cakes are an 8" chocolate fudge and 6" vanilla and everything on the cakes is edible.

Eamon - Hillwalking Birthday Cake

I have so many favourite cakes this week I don't know where to start. Aedin ordered this 8" vanilla cake to help Eamon celebrate his 60th birthday. Everything is edible and handmade and, one of my favourite bits is the sign where I have a little cake on the picnic bench (I am so easily pleased lol).

Úna - 60th Birthday Cakes

I loved making this cake for Úna's birthday a few weeks back. The base is a 10" chocolate biscuit cake and the handbag is carrot cake. The shoe, lipstick, and everything really is handmade, from sugar and is edible. Úna got to fly in a small plane as part of her birthday present so we had to include a little one on the handbag to commemorate it.

Geraldine - Leeds Utd Plumber Cake

... I've forgotten the name of Geraldine's husband. It'll come back to me. Either way, this is his birthday cake. He had a big birthday recently and Geraldine ordered this 10" coffee cake to celebrate. As he is a plumber it was only right he should be on the job. I've included a few of his passions here, Leeds Utd., Fishing and a good cup of tea. Everything is edible (except for the banner supports).

Ronan - 60th Birthday Gaiety Panto Cake

Firstly, I apologise for the sheer number of photos but ... I loved making this cake. It was ordered to celebrate Ronan's 60th birthday. He produced this years Gaiety Panto, Rapunzel, and is very much loved. The stage is approx. 70cm x 30cm and is made up of Raspberry Whirl cake and Carrot cake and the tower is chocolate biscuit cake The whole thing is approx 1m x 45cm x 50cm . They kinda left the design up to me as long as certain elements were included and this is what I came up with. The curtains, whilst icing, are supported by foamcore board so are inedible as is the witch.... she was a last minute addition and i had to use card to form her dress as she wouldn't have dried in time. So, yeah, the biggest cake I've made and one I am very proud of. Thank you Caroline for the opportunity to make this. It was a blast ( which is what the kitchen looked like it had endured by the time I'd finished) x
