This is a quite large ( 2 x 12" ) zesty lemon cake. Lemon madeira, brushed with lemon syrup before being triple layered with lemon buttercream and lemoncurd. It is then covered with fondant, with details added in modelling icing.
Anna later said "I was totally gobsmacked when I saw my cake. It far exceeded my expectations. It was the talking point of the night (apart from me of course!) Just such a shame I had to cut it and share out the yummy cake within."
It was scrummy and I think the handle has been preserved :)
