Tiffany for Norma

It was my friend's 50th birthday last week and I struggled as to what kind of cake to make her.  Then I remembered she loves jewellery so I settled on this.  The cake itself is a 7" square Belgian Chocolate Fudge cake . . with Orange oil for a little citrus kick.  The bow is made from mexican modelling paste and the lid is made to be lifted off so you can write a message underneath it.

Tiffany Gift Box Cake

This was interesting.  Every now and then you are asked to do a cake which, to some degree or other, is copyright protected.  Examples would be Mickey Mouse, Scooby Doo and, in this instance, the Tiffany Blue colour.  As ever in these cases it comes down to artists interpretation.
The cake itself is Zesty Lemon, 9", and was layered with a lemon meringue buttercream before being covered with two layers of fondant (to achieve an extra smooth surface for the box).  The bow and the label were made from gumpaste.
