Max lives around the corner and had originally wanted a yellow cake with a man (from his imagination) on it.
His granny showed him a picture of a castle, much like this one, from an old cake book and he was hooked. That was exactly what he wanted.
I loved making it as it is very different from what we normally do, cake decorating 80's style.
The cake is an 8" chocolate fudge cake, the turrets are ice cream cones and the sweets (so many sweets) were a mixture of allsorts, m&m's and pastilles (quite a few fell into my mouth along the decorating path).
