This is one of my favourite cakes to have ever worked on. It took myself and Bernie and another woman, Lorraine, over 84 hours to make this cake. It was 12" x 8" and 5" high. One half of the cake was a Zingy Lemon cake and the other, my favourite cake flavour, was Sticky Ginger, Lemon and Date. All the characters were based on the original wedding photos given to me by our Client. We matched food served on the day, food, flowers, hats and even the best man's drink. It was a true labour of love and whilst I didn't want to keep in in my house much longer (I kept at it) it was a wrench to give it over to the bride and groom, celebrating 50 years of marriage.
